Summary of Duties

Maintenance Repair Worker 3 provides general and preventive maintenance to assigned buildings in Student Life; performs inspections and repairs to plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems including heating ventilating and cooling equipment, building automation systems and controls; performs carpentry, installation and repairs to doors and building envelope; inspects building life safety equipment; must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and operate personnel lifts; subject to 24-hour emergency call; operates departmental vehicle; works 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; may work overtime.

Required Qualifications

7th grade plus; one course in supervision (or one month of experience); 600 hours of training in operation of hand power and non-power tools and related safety practices (or six months of experience); 600 hours of training (or six months of experience) in two of the following: basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry or welding; and three months of experience (or equivalent training) utilizing related safety practices.

Desired Qualifications

Valid driver’s license; Universal EPA Certification; hands on experience with building automation controls and systems; knowledge of Delta Orcaview and Trane Rover.
