Summary of Duties

The Gift and Biographic Records Processor utilizes The Advancement System (TAS) database to maintain accurate and up-to-date information on all constituents, including both biographical information and charitable donations made to The Ohio State University. Ensures compliance with all IRS, PCI and University regulations regarding charitable giving. Frequently handles sensitive financial documents/information and must operate with the utmost confidentiality as such. Interacts with a wide variety of internal and external audiences including alumni, donors, friends of The Ohio State University and staff regarding gift and biographical information. Assesses, researches and resolves inquires and concerns directed at the office and uses substantial judgment and independent decision-making authority to provide excellent customer service. This position requires a successful completion of a background check.

The Gift and Biographic Records Processor is expected to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, be a self-starter with strong sense of discipline, problem-solving ability, sound judgment and follow-through, have the ability to read, analyze and interpret information, be adept at adhering to critical policies, procedures and quality controls in relation to gift and biographic data, have strong interpersonal (oral and written) and organizational skills, be comfortable working with a computer, scanners, database and other related hardware/software, have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and exhibit the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancement’s core competencies: Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

One year experience (1000 hours course work or training) in customer service or communications, including analyzing & interpreting information; six months of experience (600 hours training) in operation of computer and related peripheral equipment; three months of experience (300 hours course work) in information research & analysis.

Desired Qualifications

Strategic focus to improve and promote quality and efficiency; technical aptitude toward data quality and management; experience researching, analyzing, and interpreting complex information; experience and/or training in customer service or communications.
