Summary of Duties

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Clinic Manager to join the patient care team in Clinic Administration to support the Predoctoral Clinics. The College’s Predoctoral Clinics within Clinic Administration are important to the health care delivery system.

The Clinic Manager is responsible for managing operations and staff for the College’s eight Comprehensive Care clinics; oversees workflow, assists with setting and achieving operational goals; facilitates care coordination; develops and maintains databases, performs data collection, entry, analysis and outcomes reporting; directly supervises administrative clinic staff including two lead staff; ensures staff submits accurate and timely payroll and leave verification; participates in hiring, onboarding, training and performance review processes; implements clinic policies and procedures focusing on optimal patient care; creates standard operating procedures; coordinates scheduling for four external dental assisting schools internships at the college; serves as liaison with dental faculty; researches and responds to faculty, student and patient inquiries; communicates with patients to resolve concerns/complaints/grievances; provides assistance to clinic directors related to the PAAR process; participates in bi-weekly Predoctoral Clinic Director’s meetings; oversees maintenance and annual audit of equipment; ensures compliance with infection control and sterilization requirements and guidelines; monitors cleanliness of operatories, student labs and ensures safe environment for patients.

Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.

Candidate must be able to work nights and/or weekends as needed for college events; must be able to pull/push carts with supplies, equipment or patient records; lift up to 25 pounds; stand, sit or walk for periods of time.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Business Administration degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in data collection methodology, logical thinking and problem solving skills, which includes workflow analysis, database development/maintenance, data analysis and reporting; considerable experience in a clinical/healthcare program settings; minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a clinical environment; knowledge of infection control and sterilization standards; excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, the ability to use basic office equipment; fax machines, copier/printers, and the ability to contribute to and work within a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications

Considerable experience in a dental clinic with strong knowledge of dental terminology; five years of supervisory experience, considerable experience in a large clinical environment; experience using an electronic health system; a high level of experience using Microsoft Office 2010 in a business environment in order to generate a complex variety of materials and reports.
