Summary of Duties

The Marketing Communications Coordinator will work in a shared services team supporting the work of the Office of the Chief Information Officer, the Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE) and Enterprise Security. His/her main responsibilities include (1) serving as the primary marketing communications resource for our client Tech Hub; (2) promoting Digital Unions; (3) introducing campus technology services to incoming students; (4) serving as internal communications lead for OCIO, ODEE and Enterprise Security; and (5) other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

This position requires 0-2 years of professional communications experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Marketing, English or a related field. This dynamic role involves many different skill sets and coordination of activities: managing websites, writing copy, developing design concepts, creating print pieces, managing social media and planning live events. The communications coordinator must be able to map out and execute communications campaigns to target audiences from start to finish. S/he will work with web development and design team experts to produce marketing and communications materials that support Ohio State’s brand. To successfully reach his/her goals, the communications coordinator will build collaborative workflows and strong working relationships across campus, within OCIO/ODEE/ED as well as with academic units and student organizations. Serving many clients in multiple organizations, the coordinator is expected to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
