Faculty in Music Theory. Responsibilities: teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise undergraduate and graduate students, supervise graduate students, and serve on student graduate committees. Coordinate core undergraduate theory and aural training courses. Pursue an active research agenda and provide service at the school, college and university level.

Required Qualifications

PhD in Music Theory or related field. PhD must be completed by the time of hire. The area of research specialization is open. Candidates with primary or secondary expertise in jazz, folk, popular, or non-western music are encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in individuals whose approach to teaching is informed by current trends in music theory pedagogy and who have experience in curriculum development.

Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
