Summary of Duties

The Associate Director, Donor Relations and Stewardship serves as part of the Donor Relations and Stewardship team for the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and is critical in allowing the Wexner Medical Center Advancement team to fully engage with donors at every step of their relationship. The Associate Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive programs that promote meaningful engagement opportunities and creative stewardship that specifically target principal and major giving prospects and donors to the Wexner Medical Center. This position will focus on strengthening relationships with our top constituents as we prepare for the next capital campaign and begin to implement the objectives in the WMC Strategic plan.

Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship, the Associate Director supervises a team of donor relations and stewardship professionals, and operates with a high degree of organization, attention to detail, critical thinking and creativity in a global capacity and interpersonal skills for interaction with leadership, trustees, development officers, donors, physicians, administrators and key stakeholders.

The Associate Director is expected to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, evaluate and respond appropriately to problems, have excellent communication skills (both written and oral), demonstrate computer competency and highly developed knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, and exhibit the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancement’s core competencies: Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; five years of progressively responsible experience in the healthcare/development/campaign arena, preferable at a large university-related medical center or healthcare fundraising organization; two years of experience in program planning and administration.

Desired Qualifications

Two years of supervisory experience; demonstrated success in managing complex programs and projects; possess the ability to manage multiple projects effectively to include developing timelines, setting priorities and meeting deadlines; proven knowledge of moves management and other development best practices; two years of experience in planning and executing events.

Target Salary $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually
