Summary of Duties

The Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) group designs, develops and supports applications and services that facilitate the business processes of all units and centers within the Office of Research.

The Client Services & Endpoint Security Manager provides security-focused leadership and direction over customer-facing personnel and services within ORIS. The Client Services manager is responsible for; evaluating and recommending solutions for workspace and information storage security, ensuring secure configuration and management of client computing devices, delivering security outreach throughout the organization and the research community, providing tier-2 troubleshooting and technical expertise to end users, and serving as the subject matter expert for interpreting and implementing secure endpoint computing controls per the Ohio State information security framework. Collaboration efforts include; working with networking/server team to test and monitor client configurations, assisting the development team with organizing and conducting quality assurance tests of applications and services, synchronizing security outreach efforts with the OSU Enterprise Security team. Coordinates with the ORIS Director to plan training, technology change management, and other efforts as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable experience implementing client computing security measures (firewalls, malware protection, intrusion detection, change management, etc.); strong problem solving and analytical skills; considerable experience creating and delivering training information to a diverse audience; possess a solid business and management acumen, critical thinking and leadership skills; proven ability to build relationships with a wide variety of constituencies and leverage those effectively, and lead by example; ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior-level administration and faculty, and be receptive to their feedback; have superior verbal, written and visual communication and presentation skills; have strong interpersonal skills for effectively engaging and influencing individuals and groups.

Desired Qualifications

Obtained one or more relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Considerable experience working with individuals and groups that encompass a wide range of backgrounds and skill-sets. Experience supervising employees in an IT department.

Target Salary $74,000.00 - $80,000.00 Annually
