Summary of Duties

Responsible for the daily operation of all network related devices to the Building Automation group, the Retro-Commissioning group, and the Lab and Fume Hood Group. Manages nearly 7000+ BACnet devices that reside on the secure dedicated 10 MB Ethernet network to ensure they meet all aspects of the ASHREA standards for BACnet. Manage department security policies and practices to ensure proprietary data and networks meet OCIO compliance and industry standards. Maintain Building Automation DDC servers by configuring BACNet alarms, reports, trending, and database backups. Maintain databases and records of department assets which include network devices, applications, workstations, and tools. Manage audits, Information Security Self-Assessments, and other related system reviews. Manage Building Automation department network architecture which includes firewalls, switches, domain, WSUS, and operating system configurations for OCIO compliance and NIST/CIS industry standards. Maintain a continuous development plan for department growth, disaster recovery, and new building automation technologies. Remain current in building automation technologies and ICS security by continuous education which may include certifications, conferences, and other educational resources. Troubleshoot BACNet and Ethernet network communication issues to servers, front-ends, and other hardware devices; performs WAN backups of BACnet devices, HVAC applications, databases, and network devices; will provide department IT support on Windows operating systems, desktop applications, and network printers; updates online documentation, spreadsheets, and databases; adapts vendor supplied pre-programmed hardware and software to facilitate communication on existing BACnet network; provide preventative maintenance to HVAC Ethernet devices and network equipment; will troubleshoot BACnet HVAC systems, and DDC control problems on an as-needed basis.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; in-depth knowledge of BACnet systems to include complex building HVAC system applications, LANs commands/configurations, alarming, scheduling, proprietary interfaces, integration and system management, PC operation and workstation software; network training or four years of experience working with network configurations and troubleshooting; broad knowledge of a variety of Direct Digital Control systems; knowledge of UPS and Management Cards and set up; knowledge and hands on experience of Servers; knowledge and Switch Programming; knowledge of IP infrastructure and hands on experience with IP Networks.

Desired Qualifications

Four years of experience in HVAC system troubleshooting utilizing remote diagnostics; hands-on troubleshooting of building HVAC systems.

Target Salary $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 Annually
