Summary of Duties

Assists all current resident researchers and research projects being conducted at Stone Laboratory, including Lake Erie watersnake conservation; assists with other current Stone Laboratory research projects and visiting researchers at laboratory; assists with animal care compliance and record keeping; assists with seasonal animal colony husbandry (fishes, reptiles and amphibians); assists in sample collection aboard Stone Laboratory research boats on Lake Erie; assists in laboratory experiments; picks up samples collected by other researchers on the mainland; assists with Research Experience for Undergraduates Program; assists with the Stone Laboratory SCUBA diving program; assists in preparation and maintenance of research facilities for utilization by visitors, faculty, researchers, and students; conducts inventory of supplies and equipment; maintains and repairs scientific equipment; provides assistance with generation of relevant laboratory reports; performs data entry and analysis as needed; performs other duties as assigned. Position is a temporary appointment that will last from April to late October, 2018 (flexible beginning and end dates).

This position is located in Put-In-Bay, Ohio.

Required Qualifications

Two (2) years of college coursework or demonstrated ability in the conduct of routine field work or an equivalent combination education and experience.
