Summary of Duties

The Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Brain Imaging (CCBBI) at the Ohio State University is a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research facility supporting a wide range of users with cognitive, computational, clinical, social, and developmental neuroscience interests. This fMRI facility is focused on research (not treatment). Maintains, debugs, and optimizes the operation of the Siemens MRI system; conducts research and remains informed of the latest technical development in the field of MRI, fMRI, DTI, ASL, and MRS; communicates technical developments to users of the facility both in person and in research seminars; maintains proper functioning of the Siemens 3T PRISMA MRI system and related hardware in the facility; debugs any hardware problems; interfaces with representatives of various hardware vendors to find solutions to problems; educates users in image acquisition, processing, and data analysis through comprehensible presentations in research seminars and user workshops; assists in imaging research protocol developments; collaborates with individual researchers to identify, install, and optimize MRI, fMRI, DTI, ASL, and MRS pulse sequences for different experimental needs; works with support staff who are responsible for research and testing of subjects; maintains and monitors the safety of the fMRI facility.

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree in MR physics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or related field; research experience in a technical field closely related to MRI, fMRI, and DTI; experience in managing MRI system(s).
